X-Men Origins: Wolverine Gets An M-Rating

While the film industry sorts the fallout from the leak of the Wolverine movie, here’s a preview of the video game tie-in. A key difference of the two versions is that the game has an M-rating. If you think the past X-Men movies have been lacking severed limbs and the vast amounts of blood in them, then it looks like you need to check the game out.

The controls are intuitive, the battles intense. When your claws hit an arm, the arm comes off. To counteract the guns of your enemies, you have a targeted lunge move where Wolverine pounces on an enemy, claws out, and knocks him to the ground. There you can basically lay the chest open, blood and gristle flying this way and that.

We’ll finally be able to see Wolverine’s claws used properly. Of course, it also means that not everyone will be able to play it since it will fall under the restrictions of some countries. Expect the game to hit retail on May 1.
