Xbox 360 NXE Gets Festive Snow Globe

The New Xbox Experience (NXE) on the Xbox 360 continues to light us up with surprises. It was only a short while ago that we were treated to some free snowboard-minded clothing upgrades for our Xbox Live Avatars. Around the same time, we were offered the ability to download the holiday premium theme for free too. Now Microsoft is going a little further and possibly a little more sadistic.

If you boot up your Xbox 360 and head over to the Spotlight section, you’ll notice that there is the new Xbox 360 Holiday Snow Globe. Launching this, you’ll see a massive snow globe populated by a random selection of you and your friends. Your poor Avatars are stuck inside of this winter wonderland and, get this, you can actually shake the thing to confuse those Avatars.

Along with the snow globe itself, you’ll see holiday greetings in a number of different languages scroll across the top of the screen while “Jingle Bells” annoying loops itself in the background.
