Xbox 360 Getting Even Cheaper? Elite too!

xboxpricedrop.jpg

You may have noticed that the Xbox 360 Pro with the 20GB hard drive has dropped in price from $350 to $300. Certain retailers are also bundling in a couple of free games for the same price, so it may appear that now is the best time to jump into the Microsoft current-gen gaming arena. Gears of War 2 is just around the corner, as are several other hot titles.

Well, you might want to hold your horses there for just a moment. Chalk this one up as a completely unsubstantiated rumor, but there’s word going around that Microsoft will be reducing the price on the entire Xbox 360 line and not just the outgoing 20GB model.

According to these reports, the HDD-less Xbox 360 Arcade will get dropped to $199, the upcoming 60GB Xbox 360 Pro will get tagged at $299, and the 120GB Xbox 360 Elite gets a shiny new $399 sticker. No word on when (and if) these price drops will occur, but you should also note that these are American prices. Canadian pricing should be similar, but we make no guarantees.
