World of Warcraft: On Hallow’s End & The Scourge Invasion
It’s standard practice for MMORPGs to create in-game holidays to match real-life ones. Such is the case with Hallow’s End, the annual celebration of Halloween in World of Warcraft. Players have gotten used to the “terror” caused by the Headless Horseman, the costumes, candy and pumpkin heads scattered all over Azeroth and Outland.
This year, Hallow’s End came with a new twist: the Scourge Invasion. While not exactly timed with the festivities, the event serves as a backdrop for the upcoming expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. Similar to what happened in Warcraft 3, the Scourge are starting to spread their undead plague anew. The WoW twist comes with a surprise: you can turn into a zombie.
Regardless of whether you enjoyed the zombie transformations or not, know that they will end today. That’s one less thing to worry about when you enter a capital city to try to post your auctions. Hallow’s End comes to a close on the 1st, so make sure you get everything you need from the unfortunate horseman.
