World Of WarCraft Game Director Leaves To Work On Another MMO
![]()
World of WarCraft game director Jeff Kaplan has left the popular MMORPG and moved to work on Blizzard’s other MMO. Details on what that game is are not available at the moment, leaving every Blizzard fanboy speculating on what it is.
The members of Blizzard’s trinity of games are WarCraft, StarCraft and Diablo. Considering that the first one already has an MMO, it’s logical to think that one of the other two will be the next to get the massively multiplayer treatment. But with both titles getting their sequels—and those sequels are going to remain true to their respective genres—it’s unlikely that we’ll see them as MMOs anytime soon. That leaves us with The Lost Vikings, Rock N’ Roll Racing and Blackthorne. I don’t see them as potential MMOs, to tell you the truth.
It’s possible that Blizzard is working on a completely new game. Though I wouldn’t mind seeing a StarCraft MMO, I’m also open to that possibility. Diablo’s fine, but it’s already an RPG with multiplayer elements so I don’t think Blizz is going to tamper with it. Let’s see how the guessing game will go.
