World of Wacraft Patch 2.4 Notes

currentpatchnotes.jpg

The notes for patch 2.4 are up and players in the Public Test Realms are now able enjoy the Sunwell Plateau, among other things. It’s a major patch, so expect a lot of changes in the metagame. Here are some of them:

  • The Sunwell Isle is now available for play. This area includes a new quest hub and 5-player and 25-player instances. Join the Shattered Sun Offensive in shutting down Kael’thas’ nefarious operations.
  • All 25-player raid bosses that drop set tokens will now drop an additional token!
  • Players will no longer require an attunement quest to enter Hyjal.
  • Players will no longer require an attunement quest to enter the Black Temple.
  • Diminishing returns on honor for kills is being eliminated.
  • Honor will now be instantly calculated, and available for player use.
  • Players that have the resurrection sickness debuff will be worth no honor.

The removal of the attunement quests mean that high-level instances such as Hyjal and the Black Temple can be entered freely when patch 2.4 goes live. This means that players will be able to access the game’s most powerful (and therefore most rewarding) dungeons with minimum effort. PvP rewards will also be easier to acquire, given the removal of diminishing returns and instant calculation of honor. Since no honor will be given to players who kill other players who have the resurrection debuff, corpse-camping should be reduced.
