Wii-Mote On The Left, Wii-Mote On The Right

Any gamer will tell you that one of the coolest features of an action or action-oriented game is dual-wielding, the ability to use two weapons at the same time. In Unreal Tournament, the starter Enforcer gun could be dual-wielded, helping to balance things out a bit from your recent re-spawn. Swinging two lightsabers in Jedi Academy and Knights of the Old Republic certainly brought a lot of flair to an age-old formula. All things considered, it was only a matter of time before someone came up with the idea of taking dual-wielding literally, and what better way to do that than to use two Wii-motes, courtesy of Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, the lightgun-style spin-off headed for Wii, will allow two players to splatter zombie face in co-op mode.

The news brings with it one delightful thought: dual wielding. With a Remote in each hand, you’ll feel like the daddy.

Anyway, confirmation on co-op has come via way of scans of a preview in the latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu, which show screenshots containing two crosshairs on the same screen, proving early suspicions that a co-op mode would be included accurate.

I’m hoping that they can get the control scheme worked out. And I really need to get myself a Wii.
