Wii Owners Can Now Hit the Ice

We’ve been able to play Wii Sports since the system launched so long ago. We’ve endured not so pleasant offerings like Deca Sports. We’ve experienced some interesting control schemes with games like Madden NFL 08. When will Wii owners finally be able to pit Sidney Crosby against Alexander Ovechkin? When will Wii owners get to stop pucks as Roberto Luongo or chase the cup with the Detroit Red Wings? Soon, my friends, soon.

At long last, it has now been announced by 2K Sports that they will be bringing NHL 2K9 to the Nintendo Wii. Very few details have been released at this time beyond the fact that they are doing it. If this is indeed the case, I hope that EA Sports follows suit by saying that NHL 09 will be coming to the Wii too, because I prefer the EA controls and feel over the 2K ones.
