Wii Outsells PS3 5-to-1

Given all the media hype surrounding the Nintendo Wii and then coupling that with Japan’s fascination with anything that Shigeru Miyamoto pumps out, this news should come as very little surprise. For the month of May, the Nintendo Wii outsold the Sony PlayStation 3 in Japan by a margin of 5:1.

In May, Nintendo moved 251,794 Wii units compared to the “just over 50,000″ PS3 units that Sony managed to push through retailers in the land of the rising sun. The scary thing is that the trend doesn’t appear to be slowing down. In April, the sales comparison was a mere 4:!… should we be expecting 6:1 in June?
