Wii Gets Canadian Price Drop Today

wiiconsole.jpg

The guy behind Total Gamer Zone apparently got his hands on an early flyer from a “Canadian electronics retailer” that is supposed to be sent out today (Friday) and while there are probably some other deals in said flyer, there’s only one that you need to know about. The Wii is receiving a $20 drop, resulting in a net retail price of $269.

When the Wii first hit store shelves last year, I paid $279 (plus taxes) for mine. Some months later, I saw an inexplicable rise to $289. And now they’re reportedly bringing it back down to $269. Really, then, isn’t this a $10 price drop and not a $20? In any case, the shortage of Wii consoles will probably get just a little shorter thanks to the slightly more affordable price. That’s assuming Total Gamer Zone is, like, totally not lying.
