White Wii Controller is Retro Chic

Seeing how both Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii can be played using more traditional controls on a GameCube controller, Nintendo is revitalizing an old design for the more conventional amongst us (like me). They are effectively re-releasing a version of the original GameCube controller but with a couple of notable changes.

First, the “new” controller is a polar white like the Nintendo Wii. Contrast this to the purple and black controllers of old that were used to match with the old GameCube. The other notable change is that they are extending the cord by about 50%, stretching it out to a 3 meter (10 feet) range. This helps you sit a little further away from the TV, but couldn’t they have just re-released the Wavebird instead? I love that wireless thing.
