What? Another Minigame Compilation for the Wii?

I can understand that Nintendo was trying to appeal to the masses with the Wii, providing titles that were accessible by traditional non-gamers. That’s why games like Wii Sports and Wii Play were so successful. The problem is that they’re really taking this mini-game thing way too far, because in addition to Super Monkey Ball, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Wario Ware: Smooth Movies, and countless others, we’re about to be bombarded with… yes, yet another minigame collection.
Turning our attention to Midway, they’re apparently gearing up a title called Game Party, comprised of a half dozen casual games that are designed to appeal to casual gamers. Based on the picture provided, we’ll get darts, air hockey, shuffleboard and a couple of other rumpus room favorites. Weeeee?
Thankfully, all is not lost over at Midway, because they’re creating a Wii exclusive racing game called Cruis’n, an update to the arcade classics Cruis’n USA and Cruis’n the World. Both Cruis’n and Game Party are expected to launch in November.
