Warhammer Online Closes Servers
Mythic recently announced the upcoming closure of 43 servers for its MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. The game’s player population has been declining since it was released, forcing the publisher to come up with a more aggressive recruitment scheme to get players to sign up and also trim down costs.
What should I do if my character name is already in use on the destination server?
In the event that your character’s name is already in use on the destination server, you will be prompted to rename your character when you log in.
The list of affected servers is here. You’ll also see the destinations that characters from those servers will be moved to. Items and vault contents will be transferred, as well as quests, tomes, friend list and guild information. Auction items, guild alliances and mail will not be moved. Make sure you include them in your inventory before you move.
