Tycoon Franchise Sleeps With The Fishes
Well, you can’t blame them right? Every company wants to milk their brands and franchises for all their worth. I remember when I picked up the first Roller Coaster Tycoon for the PC. It was an absolute blast designing those thrill rides, adjusting prices with demand, and putting up new hot dog stands. And then the onslaught of Tycoon games ensued with titles for railroad-ers, Monopoly-ers, and zoo-keepers. It looks like they’re expanding again, and this time, the expansion is heading to the Nintendo DS
Fish Tycoon was originally released for the PC in 2006 (and it won a bunch of awards), but now they’re porting the game over to the touchtastic handheld from Nintendo with a few extras in tow. DS-only features include all new 3D environments, nearly twice as many fish types as the PC version, extensive use of the touch screen (duh), setting your own fish prices, and “simulated real-time experience yields potential surprises every time you turn the game on.”
