Two Million Copies of Soul Calibur IV Sold to Date

Some people are really excited about Street Fighter IV. Others are getting really stoked about Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. And then there are people who are relatively loyal to the fighting game franchise from Namco Bandai and it seems that this last group is quite a bit bigger than most people would have guessed.

Since Soul Calibur IV hit retail shelves on July 29, two million copies have been shipped and sold to the weapon-wielding public. You may have to choose between Yoda and Darth Vader, but when you combine the shipments of both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, you’ll count up two million discs. That’s a lot of swordplay.

Will the upcoming fighters from Capcom and Midway be able to compete? They don’t have Jedi powers, you know.
