Trailer: Battlefield Heroes

Electronic Arts has released the trailer of Battlefield Heroes and, though the quality has been toned down, here’s the YouTube version.

Battlefield Heroes is an action game that will be available for free upon release. EA hopes to generate revenue via its “Play 4 Free” system, a business model that uses in-game advertising and microtransactions. This, along with the game’s cartoonish graphics, are clear indications that EA wants to reach a wide audience (as opposed to appealing only to the hardcore gaming crowd). Furthermore, Battlefield Heroes will use a ranking system to make sure that similarly-skilled players are matched together.
