The Starcraft Tabletop Game

If it wasn’t for Starcraft 2, this thing would more than a few years late. But hey, you can’t keep a good game down, right?

I’m getting ahead of myself. I’m talking about the new Starcraft board game. That’s right, the highly successful space real-time strategy game that put Korea on the gaming map is now coming out of your computer and into a tabletop near you.

Thankfully, the series needs no introduction, so we’ll just go directly with what you’ll get out of the box.

Including a total of over 180 plastic figures and dozens of unit types, Starcraft: The Board Game features an innovative modular board of varying sizes which guarantees a new experience each and every game. An exciting card driven combat system allows players to modify and upgrade their faction with a wealth of powerful technologies. Players can unleash a Zergling rush, use powerful Protoss shields to halt an enemy invasion, or even send cloaked Ghosts out to guide nuclear missiles to their target.

It’s going to be a little painful at $79.95 USD, but the September release date should give you plenty of time to prepare for your Zerg rush.
