Tetris Party WiiWare with Balance Board

If there’s one puzzle game franchise that seems to have endured it all, it’s Tetris. We got hooked on the arcade version. We got all excited about the portable version on the original puke green Game Boy. We even attempted variants like Tetrisphere and “Push” on Tetris DS. And now we’re ready for the next generation of Tetris action on the Wii in the form of Tetris Party.

Thankfully, you won’t have to fork over the full price for a disc-based game, because Tetris Party is a WiiWare title that will be heading to your online store some time this fall. Very few details have been announced at this point, but the press release says that the game will include “the unique point-and-shoot capabilities of the Wii Remote”, as well as support for the “recently released Wii Balance Board.” Get ready to lean left and right as you move those blocks around.
