Tecmo Bowl to Live Again on Nintendo DS

There are certain franchises that were absolutely legendary in their day. I still remember rushing home to my original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) so that I could partake in some Excitebike and Dr. Mario. Another franchise that was a fan favorite was Tecmo Bowl, a football game that got us tackling and blitzing before the Madden series from EA become a household name.

Somehow, along the way, Tecmo Bowl fell off the face of the map and we were left without any Tecmo Bowl action for a number of years. But Tecmo is about to breathe new life in the legendary franchise, reportedly producing Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff for the Nintendo DS and they say that the new pigskin title will hit our dual-screened portable gaming machines this fall, just in time for the new NFL season.

Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff will come with stylus controls, customizable teams and emblems, and even online multiplayer. No further information has been leaked, aside from the logo above, so we’ll just have to wait a bit before being able to hit the Tecmo gridiron again.
