Street Fighter IV Art: Ryu Is Ugly
Destructoid has this completely fanboy-aimed article about Ryu’s character art in Street Fighter IV. You can look at the screenshot for a summary of all things wrong with Ryu.
Like I said, the screenshot and the source article is aimed for fanboys, since it provides a deep look into Ryu’s design and literally takes it apart. Street Fighter has been around long enough to develop a strong fanbase and, as the main character of the series, Ryu is the most recognizable. Presenting him this way is comparable to a desecration, which explains the rabid gnawing at the “new” art.

It was obvious from the start that many fanboys of other franchises and old patrons of SF would have a lot to say. I am truly upset that gamers do to recognize what high caliber of game Street Fighter IV will be. The game contains a new art style, and a extensively revamped version of the old fighting engine. This revamp contanis new combat tricks and new hit detection, not to mention new moves for old characters. There are also six new playable chracters (Seth, Gouken, Abel, C. Viper, El Fuerte, and Rufus). There will also be for the first time ever in the series actual alternate costumes for all characters. Knowing all these facts, I find it riduculous that some people down the game because Ryu’s model is and I quote “ugly”. So I end with this, unless you are willing to give a review of the game based on what the game is in a critical sense, then hold your comments for someone nieve enough to think what you have to say is worth listening to.
that game goes hard
