Still Working on Gran Turismo for the PSP

Most people have written off Gran Turismo PSP as vaporware at this point. They’ve been talking about bringing the famed racing game franchise to Sony’s portable gaming machine for some time now… you can probably still find some websites that list the estimated street date as March 2005. That’s crazy. Even though we may have given up on the game, it seems that the developers have not. It’s just delayed.

The latest date being thrown out there for Gran Turismo 4 on the PSP is some time in 2009. Kazunori Yamauchi assures us that the development on the game is still alive and well, but they’ve been thrown into a loop trying to integrate the game with GT5 on the PS3. The hope is that they hope to toss in some online functionality in the PSP title, but this may only work through the PS3.

So, yeah, keep waiting.
