Star Wars: Force Unleashed Updates

I’m somewhat of a Star Wars fan. With that, I mean I like the movies and the Knights of the Old Republic games but I’m not into it enough to really dive into it, so the novels, comic books and other elements of the expanded universe are all unfamiliar territory to me. Because of that, I’m looking forward to seeing Star Wars: Force Unleashed succeed. I want the game to get good review scores and, more importantly, I’d like to see the controls to work. The Wiimote has so much potential in terms of allowing players to get a feel of what it’s like to wield a lightsaber, so it’s a little disheartening to find the following updates from Game Informer:

  • swing Wiimote to attack with lightsaber (direction matters, but motion is not 1:1)
  • motion controls for force powers
  • push Nunchuck forward while holding a trigger to use Force Push
  • full motion control details are still being worked out

Hopefully some of the other Force powers will make up for the “not 1:1″ controls.
