Standalone Rock Band Microphone Sells for $50
Some people aren’t willing to drop $170 to get Rock Band Special Edition for their Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. They just can’t justify spending that amount of money when they have no interest in one of the instruments bundled inside the package. Alternatively, some people have a tendency to break everything in sight and they want the opportunity to replace the smashed components in a piecewise fashion. Whatever the case, we’ve been itching for the opportunity to buy standalone instruments for Rock Band, particularly an extra guitar for the true four-player band experience.
We’ve heard that replacement guitars and drums are coming down the pipeline next month, but there has been very little mention of an extra microphone. That has apparently changed, because here is a fuzzy cameraphone picture of the standalone microphone for Rock Band, and it seems to carry a retail price of fifty bucks. This was snapped at a Best Buy in Ohio.
Wow, that’s expensive. I think you’re better off buying any other USB microphone, because those are supposed to work too.
