Square Enix Explains “Betrayal”
When it was announced the Final Fantasy XIII was going to be available on the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3, it was almost as if gaming’s very foundations experienced a minor tremor. After all, the Final Fantasy series have always been a staple on Sony’s consoles, (except for the handheld titles, of course) so it was easy to think that some gamers think of this as a betrayal on Square Enix’s part. Months after the announcement was made, Squeenix has finally decided to address those concerns.
Square Enix Corporate Director Shinji Hashimoto explained:
“I’d rather they not think of [Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360] as a ‘betrayal’ or disappointment. It’s not like we’re cancelling or delaying the PS3 version at all! It’s more of an added bonus for 360 fans. We won’t be putting them at a disadvantage in any way.”
Head to the source for more from Hashimoto. Do you think his statements will be enough to quell the uproar of the PS3′s die-hard fans? Yeah, I didn’t think so either.
