Spoiler Alert: The Scoop on the Simpsons Video Game

Although EA has attached a date to their upcoming Simpsons video game — one that will be loosely based on the highly anticipated Simpsons Movie coming out later this month — there are several tasty tidbits that were leaked out regarding the game, including who will be the final boss.

For starters, Simpsons creator Matt Groening mentioned that this will “a videogame about videogames.” The aim of the writers was to parody just about every major video game franchise under the sun, so we can expect some fun to poked at Mario, Sonic, Lara Croft, and other mainstays that most people would recognize. This, in and of itself, is pretty darn intriguing, but there’s more.

Groening goes on to say, “And I’m in the videogame.” That’s right, boys and girls. The yellow thumbed guru himself is in the game, and what’s more, he will be the final boss.

I’m a boss that you have to fight at the end of the game. It was really fun recording a million ways of dying, going ‘UGGH, ARGGH, EUURGH!’

Could this upcoming EA-developed Simpsons game beat the arcade classic? We’ll find out later this year.
