Special Rock Band 2 SD Card for Wii

Since Nintendo has worked so hard on getting the Wii to appeal to the masses, it’s understandable that a lot of Wii owners aren’t exactly the most tech savvy of people. This is in stark contrast, for example, to the hardcore FPS enthusiasts on the PC or the geeks who pwn you on a daily basis on Xbox Live Arcade.
Possibly taking advantage of this very situation, SanDisk has a new 2GB Rock Band 2 SD memory card for the Nintendo Wii, making it easy for those soccer moms to figure out exactly how they’re going to nab some nifty DLC for everyone’s favorite band game. You see, the card says Rock Band 2 on it, so it’s got to work with that game right? No other card will work, right?
I guess that’s what SanDisk is trying to achieve, because a nearly identical 2GB SD card, even from SanDisk itself, can cost half the price of the Rock Band 2-branded one. It’s not like this is a new practice either, as you’ll find an abundance of “Wii” SD cards for sale that go for a premium. Alternatively, you can just nab the much cheaper card and have just as rocking an experience.
