Special Guitar Hero Featuring U2 In The Works

I am a proud owner of both Guitar Hero III (Wii) and Rock Band (PS3), so I guess it’s safe to say that I’m a pretty big fan of the rhythm genre of video games. Because of the multiplayer focus on Rock Band, the EA offering has garnered a fair bit of attention and it could be stealing away some marketshare away from the Guitar Hero franchise. But it’s not like the GH crew are going out without a fight.

It turns out that a standalone sequel to Guitar Hero (i.e., it won’t be called GH4) is in development and unlike the other versions that sample songs from a variety of artists, this new game will focus most of its effort “around the music of Irish rockers U2.” You can’t say that you never dreamed of emulating Bono.
