SMB Theme On Tesla Coils & Transformers Impressions

Tesla coils. They were first introduced to me in as defensive structures in the Command & Conquer series and they left a lasting impression. There’s very little that can come close to the satisfaction brought by the sights and sounds of “electri-fried” humanity.

The video above features tesla coils that can play the theme of Super Mario Bros. Most articles feature video game themes played on a piano, followed by those that can be played on a guitar. This one’s unique. When was the last time you saw and heard a tesla coil singing a tune?

In other news, I got my hands on a copy of the Transformers game for the Nintendo DS. Here’s some of what you can expect:

  • It’s a third person shooter/action game.
  • You play as an unknown rookie Autobot or Decepticon in the early stages.
  • The graphics leave a lot to be desired.
  • Combat involves punching, kicking and shooting. It’s generally boring.
  • You can transform into different vehicles. You have to find and scan them first though.
  • It has GTA elements: after the tutorial you’ll be in freeplay mode until you choose to go to a mission.
  • There’s not a lot of things to do while in freeplay mode.

Note that my progress is only at 10%, so maybe there’s more that I haven’t seen yet. Also, please remember that I am trying to like this game.
