Role of Smashing Pumpkins in Guitar Hero: World Tour

Believe it or not, the Smashing Pumpkins are just as relevant today as the rock band was during the 1990s. Heck, even the movie studios are recycling their songs for the purposes of creating some kick ass movie trailers (the trailer for the Watchmen uses the same song as Batman & Robin). And such, it’s with a little bit of excitement that we look toward the next-generation of rhythm games.
Guitar Hero: World Tour is set for launch this October and it seems that Smashing Pumpkins will make quite the smash right from the get-go. The game disc will ship with “Today” as one of the tracks, but it turns out that the creepiest man in rock — Billy Corgan — will also be a playable character in the game. Didn’t like playing as Tom Morello? How about some Corgan for your shredding needs?
But wait, there’s more. Smashing Pumpkins will debut their new single “G.L.O.W.” as part of a track pack for GH: World Tour even before the song is officially released through conventional channels. The two other track pack titles are “1979″ and “The Everlasting Gaze.” This DLC should be available shortly after launch.
