Rock Band Pricing Details Basically Confirmed

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably all too familiar with the music game phenomenon, most recently pushed forward with the Guitar Hero series on the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox 360. As you know, the Harmonix guys ditched that franchise to start Rock Band with EA, and now more details have been leaked out by an unnamed mole.

A little while back, the Rock Band Special Edition set popped up on the Amazon.com website for $199.99. For that price, you get the game itself, a guitar, a microphone, and a drum set. People thought it was a placeholder. Well, it turns out that the $200 price point is pretty firm now (well, that’s in US dollars, so the Canadian one will cost more… as always….*grumble*).

The inside source says that this $199.99 suggested retail price will apply to both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 packages, but the PS3 will be the only one to get a wireless guitar standard. The bundled guitar on the Xbox 360, sadly, will be wired. All said, the huge ass box will weigh a very hefty 20 pounds.
