Rock Band 1 Songs Not Available as DLC for Rock Band 2
If you didn’t get into Rock Band the first time around and are just enjoying Rock Band 2 for the first time on the Xbox 360, you have a little catching up to do. Sure, in Rock Band 2, you get to play tracks from the Offspring and Linkin Park, but you missed out on some killer tracks from the first game. Figured that you could just pick and choose the tracks you want from RB1 via DLC? Think again.
Harmonix and EA have decided that they have no plans to distribute the original Rock Band songs through the downloadable content channel. Instead, they paln on selling the first Rock Band for the foreseeable future. With this in mind, why would you want to spend a whopping $50 or $60 for a year-old disc? It’s not hard to find a copy of the first Rock Band so that you can go through the $5 import process.
The shortcoming of this second option? No “Enter Sandman” by Metallica. That’s a big one.
