Resistance 2 Will Have 60-Player Multiplayer

When the PlayStation 3 first hit the scene, everyone seemed to say that Resistance: Fall of Man was the must-have title for the new Blu-ray equipped gaming system. It competed directly against Gears of War on the Xbox 360 at the time. While Resistance didn’t quite take off in popularity as Sony had hoped, it still developed enough of a following to warrant a sequel.
And what a sequel it’s going to be. According to Ted Price, president of Insomniac Games, Resistance 2 will feature a fantastic eight-player co-op mode with its own story, characters and rewards. If you’re more about the massive deathmatch, then you’ll be glad to hear that there is 60-player multiplayer as well. Crazy stuff.
They say that this will bring back “a sense of intimacy”, because the fights will be broken down into “squads”. Instead of a faceless war, you get “skirmishes.” Look for Resistance 2 to launch in about six months.
