Redesign Surges PSP Sales By 120%

For the most part, the Nintendo DS has been dominating the mobile gaming market, but Sony is pushing ahead with all sorts of renewed efforts and kick-ass games. One of the most common complaints about the original PSP was that it was too heavy, too bulky to be a true portable gaming machine. With the launch of the slimmer PSP redesign, interest has been once again piqued in the marketplace.
In fact, people are so much more interested in the lighter and thinner PSP redesign that sales have increased by 120% year over year. For the month of October, Sony sold 286,000 units. The redesign also boasts the useful video-out function, which effectively transforms the PSP into a super portable PS2. Play it on the big screen or the small screen, it’s up to you.
How about you? Is the loss of girth enough to get you to buy a PSP?
