Previews: Avencast: Rise of the Mage

When it comes to RPGs, I’ve always been drawn to the mage. It’s almost always the first character that I make, even though I know that it’s also probably going to be the toughest path to start with. Sure, it’s a bit masochistic because I know I’m going to die a lot, but the rewards at the end are great. Who else can clear an entire room of monsters with a single wave of his hands?

This is why this trailer of Avencast: Rise of the Mage is so eye-catching. It looks like it’s got plenty of spells, with impressive visual effects to back them up. This is one of the more agile mages I’ve seen a while, and it looks a lot of fun to be wielding that kind of power.
