Preview: Prototype

Prototype is a perfect example of why we all got into gaming in the first place: to escape. Any hobby serves to entertain us, to provide an avenue where we can forget the daily routine and just enjoy what we’re doing. If you find pleasure in wreaking havoc, and by that I mean throwing cars, destroying tanks and crashing choppers, then this game is for you.

There’s something about performing multiple power bombs while scaling down a building that’s just cool to watch. Of course, doing an elbow drop on a tank isn’t too shabby either. This game goes beyond punching, kicking and shooting, folks. Radical Entertainment obviously has a wrestling background so it’ll be cool to find out what other moves it threw in here. One thing’s clear: there’s a lot of mayhem and destruction that you can do in Prototype. The final product ought to be interesting.

Expect Prototype to make its mark on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 this June.
