PlayStation 3 to get Saints Row

Well, it’s official. THQ sent out a press release earlier today stating that they will be bringing Saints Row to the Sony PlayStation 3. One knock that people have had against the PS3 is that they didn’t include all that many “must have” titles as part of their launch library, with Resistance: Fall of Man being perhaps the only one in the bunch. We’re anxiously awaiting MotorStorm and the next Gran Turismo (the latter of which will be a loooooong wait), but in the meantime, PS3 owners will be able to get their hands on an Xbox 360 port.

Their marketing speak talks about such things as “stunning next-generation graphics, extensive customization options and unparalleled player choice,” but the most interesting tidbit is that Saints Row “will mark the first open world online experience available through the PLAYSTATION(R) Network.”

Vast open environments, big explosions, and online gaming. Awesomeness.
