Official Street Fighter IV Trailer is Epic

Street Fighter IV. It’s going to be one of the most highly anticipated fighting games of all time, because it combines the nostalgic value of classic Street Fighter II style gameplay with cutting-edge graphics that seriously update the series. The look may be 3D, but gameplay is still good ol’ 2D like how it’s supposed to be. And it’s going to be epic.

The first official trailer was released at CAPtivate ’08 over the weekend and it gives us a great glimpse into the look and feel of this game. Serving as the soundtrack to the commercial is “Epic” by Faith No More, a song that you may recognize from Rock Band. “What is it? It’s it….. what is it?” Yeah, that one.

It’s clear that this video is getting us to compare the experience of 1991 with the experience offered in 2008. Gone are the pixelated 2D sprites of old. Arrived are epic battles fought in a highly stylized fashion.
