Nintendo Decides to Dump DS Browser For Good

Looks like Nintendo has finally realized that their dream of bringing the Internet to the tiny touchtastic handheld was full of crap, because the big N has decreed that they are dumping the Nintendo DS browser for good. At least, that’s what the rumor mills are saying.

They’re not exactly going to pull the Opera Browser off the shelves and recall all the units that have been sold thus far, but they’re probably going to stop producing any more. There was a complete lack of buzz for the browser on our side of the Pacific, and it certainly didn’t help that there was a huge delay between the Japanese and North American launch dates.

If you still want to enjoy the world wide web through a 802.11b connection and a strange touchscreen interface, you better head out to your local retailer soon, because whenever that stock runs out, that’s it. Kaput. Plop. No more DS browser.
