New Wario’s Woods Is Wii-Ware

I like simple puzzle games that are highly addictive. I can’t get enough Tetris or Puzzle Fighter, for example, and I can’t even begin to count how many hours I’ve spend playing Dr. Mario. As it turns out, yet another classic is making its way over the Nintendo Wii, possibly in the form of el cheap Wii Ware.

Pictured here is what appears to be a new Wii version of the NES/SNES classic puzzle game Wario’s Woods. We can’t vouch for the legitimacy of the image, but it looks pretty real to me. What they’ve done is take the classic formula and pump it up with some gorgeous 3D graphics. Better still, it looks like there are even Wiimote-based attacks, like the paintbrush shown here.

Naturally, Nintendo has neither confirmed nor denied this development. For now, we’ll chalk this one up in the rumor column.
