New Street Fighter IV Screenshots

New screenshots of Street Fighter IV surfaced recently, and while it doesn’t feature any new characters, it gives us a preview of how the super moves will be implemented. Well, at least that’s how it looks like.

Assuming that we’re looking at Ryu’s super fireball, there’s an initial buildup as he gathers energy for the move, then the background darkens to emphasize the two fighters. Finally, there’s the release, complete with the excess energy exploding around Ken upon impact. It’s pretty impressive. Of course, how it all animates remains to be seen.

As awesome as it looks, I can’t help but nitpick Ryu’s face in the second picture. I think the guys at Destructoid are going to have a field day over that one.
