New Soul Calibur IV Character Revealed

Soul Calibur IV is going to get a new character thanks to a design by a popular manga creator.

The latest issue of Weekly Young Jump has revealed that Hiroya Oku, the creator of the popular mature manga Gantz, has designed one of the new characters in Nacmo’s upcoming next-gen fighting game, Soul Calibur IV. The fighter’s name is Shura and she is said to be a counterpart of some sort to Ivy.

Two things to note here: first, she’s only holding one sword but seems to have three more sheathed. Are we going to get dual-wielding action out of her? Second, what’s this deal about being a counterpart to Ivy? Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against it. It actually sparked my curiousity since I’m an Ivy-user myself. As the resident dominatrix of the group, she’s got the rest of the cast wrapped around her unique sword. How is Shura going to fit in the story? We’ll find out soon enough.
