New Sony PSP On the Way: Details Revealed
The team at Kotaku have come across a whole bevy of information surrounding the supposed successor to the current Sony PlayStation Portable. The new PSP isn’t exactly a whole new machine because it will be based on the same architecture and play the exact same games, but it does improve the current offering on many fronts. Here are some highlights:
- A much slimmer design
- New LED screen that “will deliver an ultra-crisp image but take up far less space”
- Four times the battery life
- Faster UMD drive for speedier load times
- Loaded with 8GB of built-in Flash memory
- Completed overhauled d-pad
- Possibly an integrated camera
- Still black housing, but could be either matte or glossy
- Starting price of $170… that’s US dollars.
The plan is to unveil the revamped PSP at E3 later this year.
