New Ghostbusters Game Under Development
A new Ghostbusters game is in the works and it will feature the original cast.
Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd are teaming up to write the game’s script, which will act as sequel to the movies. Ramis, Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray will reprise their roles as the Ghostbusters by providing their voice and likeness on the project and, most importantly, Annie Potts will provide the voice of the secretary, Janine Melnitz.
The Ghosbusters originally started as a trio of scientists who investigated paranormal activity in New York City. When the reports increased in number, they made the jump from investigators to the ghost-equivalent of bounty hunters, using customized, high-tech gear to capture ghosts and receive rewards from their grateful clients.
From a gameplay standpoint, it will be interesting to see how the Ghostbusters gear will be translated. Also, you can probably tell from the cast members that the Ghostbusters films were action-comedies and not horror movies, so it would be great to see some of that humor in the game as well.
