New Advance Wars: Days of Ruin Artwork

Kotaku has a gallery of the upcoming COs for the new Advance Wars title, and I have to admit that I agree with the fashion show thing. They look serious, ready and (very) well-dressed for the occasion. You can check my previous post for a trailer.

It looks like I wasn’t too far off-bat with the observation that things are going to be darker this time. The presence of more adults also indicates a mature turn for the series. Of course, that doesn’t always mean better gameplay, and there’s also the risk that players of the previous versions might find the new seriousness unappealing. Still, there’s always a chance they’ll stay loyal, and the series might attract a couple of new players as well.
