Neo Geo Virtual Console Games: Remember World Heroes?

It’s no secret that I love fighting games. I can’t get enough of Street Fighter from Capcom. I loved Mortal Kombat from Midway before they decided to take the franchise into the third dimension. The tactical strategy found in Virtua Fighter and Tekken are way too much fun. Another company that has always had a firm foothold in the fighting game genre has been Neo Geo and now they’re finally bringing a library of brawlers to our homes… and without a $7,000 cartridge price.

A trio of Neo Geo fighting games have been released on the Wii Virtual Console, all of which boast fundamentally the same look but with different characters and different move sets. Fatal Fury is the one with Andy and Terry Bogart, along with their Muay Thai friend Joe. Art of Fighting was the game that nearly mirrored Street Fighter in every way, complete with character clones of sorts. And World Heroes, which you can reminisce about below, is probably the least known of the three, offering you an opportunity to chisel out a stone Adonis from a block of rock.

Each of these Neo Geo fighting games will cost you 900 Wii Points.
