MK vs DC Will Have Fatalities
Ask any Mortal Kombat player who has heard about the upcoming crossover with DC what he or she thinks about the game and you’ll eventually end up talking about fatalities, the finishing moves that catapulted the series to its initial notoriety. Since these usually involved dismemberment, decapitation or some other form of gory punishment, it would be a natural question to ask how they would be implemented in the new game. Actually, are they even going to be there in the first place? MK series creator Ed Boon explains:
“…we’re modifying fatalities. But I have every intention to keep finishers. You know, to let gamers do a really cool secret button combination and follow with a really outrageous finishing move to end the match. The names of these moves, and the level of violence we use, are to be determined. But it’s certainly not a feature we plan on eliminating from the series.”
So fatalities are going to be intact. They’re going to be toned-down, but they’ll be there. With that said, will they still be called fatalities? I doubt it. “Finisher” sounds like a better word to describe what they plan to do.
Also, enjoy Scorpion’s makeover.
