Mega Man Learns the Magma Shot

Set to arrive as WiiWare, as well as a downloadable title on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, Mega Man 9 is a nostalgic adventure that takes on much the same style and charisma as the classic Mega Man games. Remember how frustrated you got with the gut-wretching difficulty of the original NES Mega Man games? Get ready to live them again.

As we move closer to the September launch of Mega Man 9, a little more information is starting to present itself. We’ve already shown you the stage/boss select stage, but what about the new weapons that our little blue robot will learn along the way? Well, after Mega Man defeats Magma Man, he will gain the ability of the Magma Shot. In essence, he can shoot out multiple blasts of hot magma.

Don’t you find this to be pretty similar to the “hadouken” trick in one of the original Mega Man games? Yeah, he gets to do a triple fireball here, but it’s pretty much the same, isn’t it?
