Mario Kart Wii Gameplay Video

There are certain video game franchises that elicit huge emotions from the fanboy base. There are folks that swear by the openness of Grand Theft Auto. There are people that can’t wait for the next chapter in the Final Fantasy saga. And then there are people, like me, who love nothing more than to chuck a red shell at a buddy’s go-kart.

Mario Kart Wii is on the way and we’ve already heard about some of the different control schemes, the introduction of motorcycles, and a more-or-less complete character list. The only thing missing from all this preview action is a proper gameplay video. That void has now been filled by the people at IGN and by and large, Mario Kart Wii looks like all of its predecessors. From the first Mario Kart to the one on the N64 and on the DS, Nintendo has done a great job making a fun racing game. The Wii version will surely be no exception.
