Manhunt 2 Rated M for Mature, Halloween Release Date

I don’t know if you’ve been following the Manhunt 2 saga, but here’s a quick recap. Rockstar creates a totally awesome game that gets you into an insane asylum, bludgeoning the inmates patients in all sorts of crazy ways. Ratings boards freak out over the content and either slam it with an AO (adults only) rating or ban it outright. Rockstar cries.

Well, it looks like we’re going to get some Manhunt 2 action after all, because Rockstar Games — makers of the controversial Grand Theft Auto series — has dialed down some of the questionable content in the game in order to achieve the M for Mature rating.

Set for release on the PS2, PSP, and Nintendo Wii on October 31, 2007 (yes, Halloween), Manhunt 2 will be dark, it will be horror-ful, and despite having to tone it down to avoid getting banned and/or receiving an AO rating (which is usually a kiss of death for a game), it should still be awesome. Particularly with Wii controls.
