Lumines Cloned, Headed to Nintendo DS

Without a doubt, Lumines is one of the most popular titles available for the Sony PSP. The wicked soundtrack and wildly addicting gameplay will have you hooked for hours. It’s not only one of the best for the PSP, but it’s arguably one of the best intriguing puzzle games of all time. Sony thought they at least had this exclusive in the bag, but just like the titles that were supposed to be only for the PS3, Lumines is heading to another console too.

Well, in a slightly altered form. Siliconera is reporting that a game called “Luminator” (yeah, like that’s not obvious at all) is getting sent to the Nintendo DS. Developed by a German studio (not Austrian like the Governator), Luminator will feature a similar gameplay mechanic, but will only have a fraction of the original tracks and skins. Because the DS cartridge can store a lot less data than a UMD disc, Nintendo gamers will be restricted to only 15 songs. Bummer.
